Description
Wrapped belts could be considered the standard v-belt. The word wrapped comes from cloth that covers the insides of the belt, giving it a very uniform look and feel, as well as operating characteristics that are relatively quiet.
The wrap ‘s aim is two-fold. Abrasion resistance is provided by the leather, which makes the belt more sturdy. The belt-sheave interaction is continuous and can occur at very high speeds. This additional protection against both belt and sheave contamination and wear enables the belt to work longer until it becomes too worn to properly transmit the necessary strength.
